Flow community,
We’d like to broadly communicate that additional nodes are not being added to the Flow network until staking auctions are live.
With recent upgrades to the Flow Protocol, Flow now has features which will ensure the opportunity to run a node on Flow is fairly and transparently offered to all members of the community. With this work done, Flow Core Contributors are beginning to scope an important next step, Staking Auctions, which will allow node operators to bid on staking slots, and for the network to manage staked nodes automatically.
At this time, the number of staking slots will remain fixed at the current count until Staking Auctions can be fully vetted and tested.
When the Staking Auction FLIP is drafted, it will be shared throughout the community for feedback and contributions.
